Val Saint Lambert Emerald green crystal vase

Definition.

The vase is made in the middle of the 20th century in Belgium, by the famous crystal factory “Val Saint Lambert”.

This rare vase is mouth blown from clear crystal, after which a layer of green crystal is applied over it. During the finish, part of the green crystal is then cut away so that beautiful geometric figures appear. These, in turn, give a beautiful sparkle in the light.

This doubled crystal is typical of Val Saint Lambert, they perfected this process and often used it.

Val Saint Lambert uses high lead crystal. This means that at least 33% lead oxide (PbO) is used, more than the statutory 24%. This greatly benefits the quality: The crystal can be processed finer, the degree of brilliance is a lot greater and the crystal is clearer than ever.

This is an absolute masterpiece in terms of glassware and crystal.

At the bottom of the vase you can find the manufacturer's signature.

Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade art deco glassware.
