Antique French blue carafe with 4 liqueur glasses
Antique French blue carafe with 4 liqueur glasses
Definition.
Very nice carafe with 4 matching liqueur glasses, made at the end of the 19th century.
The set is made of mouth-blown glass with a crystal content to achieve a purer shine.
At the bottom of the glasses and the carafe you can still see the cut of the blowpipe.
The glasses and carafe have a beautiful ribbed structure which we find in the catalogues of Baccarat and Legras.
No two glasses are exactly the same in size and weight.
Crystal from the 19th century is not as pure as the crystal we know today.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
