French 19th Century liquer carafe and 6 glasses “Legras”
French 19th Century liquer carafe and 6 glasses “Legras”
Definition.
Rare antique carafe with 6 matching glasses, made in the 19th century in a French glassworks.
Legras was one of the most famous glassworks that made bottles and decanters for French liqueur brands.
This carafe and glasses are made of mouth-blown clear crystal in a wooden mold.
In the 19th century, the crystal was not yet as pure as what we know today.
The liqueur glasses have a very nice rare shape of small cup.
The carafe and glasses are very finely finished with enamel decorations after blowing.
This set is very unique and therefore a true must-have for the collector of antique glassware.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
