19th century crystal ginger jar Baccarat / Val Saint Lambert
Definition.
Very rare and beautiful ginger jar made at the 19th century in France or Belgium
The ginger jar is made of mouth-blown glass with lead, this is the old crystal.
After which very fine curls and figures are engraved around by hand.
We mainly encounter this in the crystal work of Baccarat and Val Saint Lambert.
In the 19th century, it followed the same table crystal series.
The generous-sized rond-shaped bowls standing on baluster stems with wide plinths.
This jars show there wonderfully rustic, hand-made Character, with there slightly uneven shapes and heights, and with trapped air bubbles in the clear glass.
The underside of the plinths show the pincer marks of the glassblower.
Please note:
The crystal at the 19th century was not yet as pure as what we know today.
With its beautiful design, this is a true showpiece on the table.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
