19th century glass pitcher
19th century glass pitcher
Definition.
Beautiful large jug, made at the end of the 19th century in France or Belgium.
The jug is made of mouth-blown glass, with a crystal content to achieve a more beautiful shine.
After blowing the jug, it is beautifully decorated with hand-carved lines and figures.
At the bottom of jug you can still see the cut of the blowpipe.
Crystal from the 19th century is not as pure as the crystal we know today.
This jug can be made by Baccarat or Val Saint Lambert as they follow in the 19th century the same style of glassware.
Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware.
